Wanted to share a fun little card I created that uses Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp Stamps and Dies and features a fun technique of stamping on aida cloth - material you usually cross-stitch on.
I love thinking of fun new ways to use my stamps and one of the best ways to do that is to look at different things around you and simply ask yourself, 'Can this be stamped on?' ;)
There are so many things that look great combined with stamping and card making!!
Just Saying Thanks

A little about the card:
- I stamped the balloon image on the aida cloth and then adhered it to be creative tape before cutting it out to help avoid fraying.
- I straight stitched (by hand) different colours of thread on the balloons using a regular sewing needle. One downside is the needle gets a little 'gummy' from going through the sticky adhesive. I just used an inexpensive needle that I didn't mind throwing out after.
- Because I did all the sewing before I adhered the balloons to the card, they ended up being a little 'puffy' in the center because of the thread in behind. It gave the balloons dimension and made them look pretty cool on the card front. ;)
- I just used a black marker to extend the balloon strings since they weren't as long as I wanted them.
- I added the sentiment banner over the area where the stamped image ended and my hand drawn lines started so you don't see them at all.
I hope this card inspires you to stamp on something other than paper. ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
