Today I have another card to share that uses the August 2013 Simon Says Stamp card kit - Happiness Enclosed.
This kit is available for purchase here and to ensure that you don't miss out on future kits, you can sign up for a subscription here for only $19.95 per month!! This will ensure that you always get the kit each month and at a cheaper price!! ;)
For my card, I decided to use the stencil to emboss rather than get inky and its super easy to do! I love thinking out of the box and using a product for more than what it was intended for! ;)
Hello
Supplies:
InLinkz.com
To create the embossing, follow these easy steps:
I use the Sizzix Big Shot machine, so if you have a different diecutting machine, just play around until you get a 'sandwich' that works. ;)
- Leave all tabs closed on the multi platfom
- Lay rubber mat on top
- Adhere the stencil to the paper you want to emboss with washi tape (so it doesn't shift around) and lay it on the rubber mat with the cardstock on the bottom and the stencil on the top.
- Add shims to get the 'sandwich' thick enough to get the embossing effect that you want. (the more shims, the deeper the embossing will be) - for this card I used a metal shim as well as 2 pieces of heavier cardstock and it worked perfect!
- Add the clear plate and run the whole thing through your Big Shot.
When your done, you will have a perfectly embossed piece of cardstock that you can use in your card design! ;)
