Happy Birthday, Baby!

Hello and happy Monday!!

Today I have a card to share that uses the new Simon Says Stamp cardstock along with one of my favourite newer Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies called Packages & Bows. I love that the presents are all individual, so you can mix and match how you stack them and you can cut them out of a bunch of different papers.

I decided to use the new Simon Says Stamp cardstock for this card, mainly because I love the colours but also because I wanted to see if any warping would occur when I heat embossed on the little die cut presents.

To create the presents, I first cut them all out with different colours of cardstock. Then, to make them a little more detailed and fun I stamped on a couple of them with the stamps that come in the Simon Says Stamp swatch book set and then clear heat embossed them. The tone on tone gives them some detail without being too 'in your face'. ;)

And they embossed amazing! No warping at all on either present that has the heat embossing. ;)

I then used a Versamark pen to trace along the embossed lines that the die creates when you diecut the presents, so I could highlight the lines as subtly as possible but still making them visible.

I stacked the presents how I liked them, adhered them all together and added them to the cardstock piece with foam adhesive for dimension. Rather than use the bows that come on the die, I used the Memory Box Tiny Bow die and adhered that to the top of the stack of presents. To give it a little more detail, I used Kelly Purkey silver glitter tape for the center of the bow to match the glitter border on either side of the white cardstock piece.

I used the new Happy Birthday stamp set from Kelly Purkey, stamped the sentiment on Sea Glass cardstock and heat embossed it with American Crafts Leaf embossng powder to match the green present.

To complete the card,  I stamped the Impression Obsession Mesh Circle background stamp on the card base and added some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the bow.
