Simon Says Stamp April 2013 Card Kit - Everyday Happy!

Hey everyone!!

Today I am going to start sharing the cards I created with the April Simon Says Stamp card kit - Everyday Happy.

This month's kit is awesome awesome awesome!!
Amazing colours and the stamp set is so fun and has so many possibilities!! ;-)

Today's card features a lot of the patterned papers that come in the kit. I have been on a 'banner' kick lately and seem to be using them on every card I create. I just love how you can layer them to create different looks.

I'm Grateful For You

Supplies:

A couple things about the card:

- To create the patterned paper heart, I cut strips of three of the same patterned papers (different colour) and adhered them to a piece of cardstock. Once I had enough, I diecut a heart out of the patterns. I used washi tape to hold the heart in place so that the strips were straight on the heart. Then I punched a couple more hearts out the remaining paper.

- To create the sentiment, I cut apart one of the stamps that came in the set and just used the words that I wanted. I lined everything up on my grid mat and then put them on my acrylic block. This helps ensure that they are straight and perfectly spaced. I stamped it on a scratch piece of paper first to make sure it was how I wanted it before I did my final stamping.

- I diecut various sized banners and then added pumice stone distress ink around the edges of them to help them stand out once they were all layered.
