I'm back with day two of my Simon Says Stamp card kit posts using the April Simon Says Stamp card kit - Everyday Happy.
I decided to use just stamps from the kit (rather than any of the patterned papers) to create two card designs. One more on the 'girly' side and the other a little more 'graphic.'

A little about the card
- First things first, I am not a huge fan of this much yellow. I love it as an accent colour but don't normally use it a a card base. But I liked it for this card because it's bright and fun and helps the stamping stand out. And the fact that it's spring here and its cold and snowing made me want to go a little brighter and 'sunnier!' LOL!
- The middle panel with all the coloured flowers was stamped in Neenah Solar White cardstock using Hero Arts shadow inks. They matched the colours in the kit perfectly!! Once I had them all stamped (which I'll admit took a little while) I added black enamel accents to the center of each flower. I then bordered it against black so it would stand out against the white.
- To create the sentiment, I cut apart one of the sentiments from the kit and rearranged it how I wanted it to look on the card.
- I cut apart one the note cards that came in the kit to use under the stamped panel. I love the look of the scalloped edge and just think it adds to the card.

A little about the card
- I decided to keep this one very simple and just do a little stamping against a white card base. The black mat under the stamped panel helps it stand out and the white notecard makes it look clean and graphic.
- I used the long triangle border stamp from the kit and repeatedly stamped it on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.
- I cut apart the stamped piece and stamped the sentiment (that I used on yesterdays card) in the middle and then adhered the stamped pieces on either side of it. (Its a little crooked which I have to admit drives me crazy, but what's done is done lol!!)

ReplyDeleteLove the yellow card with all the flowers! The triangles are amazing! I know it took a long time to do all the stamping but the results are amazing! Don't worry about the sentiment being crooked that's what makes it homemade!!
