Hello and welcome back for the last day of the Simon Says Stamp Summer Series here on my blog!!
I can't believe we are on the final day! I have had so much fun sharing these cards and techniques with you this week, and I really hope they have inspired you to pull out those awesome crafty supplies and get creative!! ;)
For my final card, I wanted to create my own patterned paper. But instead of using paper I decided to use vellum, and I love the end result.
I stamped and heat embossed on a piece of 40lb vellum from Bazzill and then I coloured the whole thing in with Faber-Castell big brush markers.
Thank You
Supplies:
Once I completed the vellum piece, I created the rest of the card by doing the following:
- I cut a window out of the front of the card and glued the vellum piece behind it. The vellum piece was first adhered to a piece of white cardstock and cut so it would fit.
- I added white dashed lines around the outside of the rectangle opening to mimic stitching.
- I stamped my sentiment on the tilted banner and adhered it over the vellum opening.
- I coloured the wood butterfly with the same colours I used on the vellum and adhered that to the left side of the banner.
- To finish the card, I added sparkle to the butterfly with a Wink of Stella glitter marker and then added some white dots to the middle of the flowers and around the blue area on the stamped vellum.
