MFT February Release | New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things new product launch!! All of the new products we've been sharing all week are officially available in the MFT store now! I can't wait to see what's on everyone's must have list! ;)

For the new product launch this month, I am featuring the new Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX die-namics and the Stars in the Sky - Vertical die-namics. I love how great all of the new products go together this month!

I decided to create a square card that would fit the largest stitched square perfectly. I diecut the square from white cardstock and then used the Stars in the Sky - Vertical die-namics to cut stars out of the top area. I then matted it on a yellow piece of cardstock that was cut slightly larger than the white panel so it could be both the colour behind the stars and a thin border around the white piece.

I diecut the new Stitched Rainbow from various colours of cardstock and then I adhered them together on the starry panel, letting it go off of the right hand side so I only had half of the rainbow. I then added a stamped and diecut cloud from the new Lucky stamp set, to the bottom area of the rainbow.

I stamped the sentiment directly under the rainbow with black ink and then I scattered some clear sequins around the rainbow for some added dimension and detail. I completed the card by adding the finished panel to a Summer Splash top-folding card base and adding glitter with a clear wink of stella to the rainbow and cloud.

Thanks so much for hanging out all week while we shared the newest products and projects! I can't wait to see what everyone creates with the new products!! ;)

MFT February Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown!

Today I have a card to share that uses a bunch of the February release products including the Stitched Rainbow die-namics, the Starry Sky - Vertical stencil, the Color the Rainbow die-namics and the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set. I love how great all of these products go together! ;)

For my card design, I first stenciled on the stars with yellow ink and the Starry Sky - Vertical stencil and then I trimmed it down to fit across the card but only cover a portion of the card front vertically. Once I had it cut down, I adhered it onto a black cardstock mat and then added it to a Summer Splash top-folding card base.

I diecut the Stitched Rainbow from various colours of cardstock and then I adhered them all to the starry panel, to create a colourful rainbow.

Once I had the rainbow adhered, I stamped the sentiment above and below the rainbow with black ink and then I added the diecut word directly onto the rainbow to complete the sentiment. I finished the card by adding some clear sequins around the rainbow.

MFT February Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown.

Today I have a card to share that features the awesome new Out of this World stamp set and coordinating die-namics. There are so many great space themed images in this set with some fun sentiments! ;)

I started my card by creating the background sky. I used Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord Distress inks with an ink blending tool to completely cover a white cardstock panel. I just kept adding the ink until I was happy with the blending and thought it looked like a night sky.

Once the inking was done, I used a paint brush to splatter on some white paint to look like stars. To make the paint splatter a little easier, I added water to the white paint to thin it out.

When I finished adding the paint, I spritzed the entire background with Sparkle Spritz Spray to add sparkle and shine to the night sky. The sparkle really makes the sky stand out and look great behind the stamped images.

Once the background was completely dry, I add my stamped and diecut space ship and stars and also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. I love the white embossing powder against the dark background.

Thank you for stopping by for Day 2 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. The new release will officially be available on the MFT website on February 2, 2016 at 10pm est!

MFT February Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown!

For today's card I used the new Lucky Us Pure Innocence stamp set and die-namics to create a scene on my card featuring a watercolour background. I love the greens and blues together and think they go perfectly with the girl image! ;)

I created the background scene first by adding various colours of blue and green watercolours to a piece of watercolour paper and then I set it aside to dry. While it was drying, I stamped, coloured and diecut my girl image. I used Copic markers to colour her and added some glitter to her boots and the horseshoe she's carrying.

I stamped the sentiment directly onto the watercolour paper once it was dry and then I adhered the girl on top. I finished the card by adding a scattering of sequins around the stamped design and adhering the panel to a Stone Gray top-folding card base.

MFT February Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to Day 4 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown!

Today I have two cards to share using the new Recipe for Happiness stamp set and coordinating die-namics. This set is so fun and includes an adorable chef image in some fun poses with a bunch of great accessory and sentiment stamps to go with.

For my first card I first stamped and coloured my chef image with Copic markers and then I cut him out with the coordinating die.

I created a background panel for the chef by die-cutting an inlay frame with stitching detail using the new Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX die-namics. I love the subtle look of the stitching even though the background is completely flat and one dimensional.

I added brick detail to the white panel using the Small Brick stencil and Grout Gray ink. I just used an ink blending tool to add the colour, starting darker in the center area and go lighter as I went out. Once the brick was done, I stamped on the sentiment with Black Licorice and then adhered the chef with foam adhesive. I also added some sequins for some added dimension.

For my second card, I used another chef image and paired him with the new Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window die-namics. I love how it kinda looks like the chef is in a picture frame. ;)

To create this card, I first stamped, coloured nad diecut the chef image and then I created the base of the card. I diecut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle and then I diecut the Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window from the top center area. I love this die because it cuts out the window and leaves a double line of stitching detail around each edge of the window.

I stamped on the sentiment and then I added the chef to the inside of the window by adhering his feet behind the panel. I the added foam adhesive to botht eh chef image and the frame piece and adhered the whole panel to a top-folding Grout Gray card base. The dimension really adds to the scene and really makes the chef pop off the card! ;)
