Bringing Sexy Sweaters Back

Hello! Today I have a fun card to share that uses the awesome new Ugly Sweater stamps from Simon Says Stamp that recently came out as part of their Cold Hands, Warm Heart release!

These stamps are so so fun with lot's of humour and a ton of creative possibilities! There are so many fun ways to make the sweater and vest 'ugly' including the awesome Santa that I added to my ugly sweater. And that sentiment... an absolute favourite! I love it!! ;) ;)

To create my card, I stamped the sweater and the Santa on white cardstock and coloured the sweater green with Copic markers. I also stamped and coloured a second Santa so I could add it directly on top of the other one with foam adhesive.

Once I had all of the colouring done, I masked off the sides of the sweater and stamped the word 'sexy' along the bottom under the Santa. I wanted it to look like it was actually a part of the sweater. To stamp the rest, I cut all the words apart and then stamped them above and below the sweater to complete the sentiment.

I added some white dots to the cuffs of the sweater with a white gel pen and I also stamped a bunch of snowflakes on the sweater and heat embossed them all with clear embossing powder.

I stamped a bunch of the snowflakes onto a piece of Green Apple cardstock with Fog ink and then layered a piece of vellum on top before adding the Postage Edge diecut panel with foam adhesive.

To complete the card, I gave Santa a gem nose that I coloured with a light pink Copic marker, I added Star Dust Stickles to his beard and hat and scattered sequins and Silver Stickles around the card. ;)

I also have a winner to announce from the SSS Cold Hands, Warm Heart blog hop. Huge congrats to CraftyPaws! Simon Says Stamp will be in touch with you to get your prize mailed out!! ;)

Strong Together | Making a Scene 'Pop!'

Today I have a card showcasing the Simon Says Stamp and Mama Elephant exclusive STAMPtember® stamp and die set called Crusader Kids. This is available only during the month of September, while supplies last. The dies are sold out, but you can still get the stamp set here as I'm writing this post.

I love the adorable super kids on this and had so much fun colouring them! I used non-traditional super hero colours and dressed them both in green and pink! I also decided to not put the boy in tights, and instead let him wear a bodysuit (aka speedo)... I think it's adorable and kinda funny lol! ;)

I wanted to create a polaroid picture with the characters and a little city scene behind them and decided to take it a step further and really make the scene stand out and 'pop' off the card!

I first assembled my photo by die cutting the frame from the Lil' Inkers Instant Camera die and then adding in the cityscape and grass with the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio dies. I used Avery Elle and Echo Park patterned papers for the sky and grass and Simon Says Stamp Slate Gray cardstock for the buildings.

I then cut a rectangle piece out of the Femme Frames dies and recreated the same scene using the same dies and papers. Before I adhered everything down, I placed the polaroid on top and decided how I wanted to position it so the scenes lined up when it was all adhered together.

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the frame and adhered the polaroid onto the background scene with foam adhesive to make it stand out even more. Then I added the super hero kids that I stamped and diecut, onto the scene with more foam adhesive.

I completed the card with some glitter accents and sequins and gems in the sky. I love the added detail and dimension that the sequins add... I have a hard time not using them on cards lately lol!

Winner

I also want to announce the winner of the Studio L2E stamp set from this post here. Huge congrats to Heather Sebastian! Heather please email me with your contact info and the stamp set you would like, and I'll get it sent out to you!! ;)

Cool Friend | Lawn Fawn Winter Scene

Hello! Today's card features another fun scene using some new Lawn Fawn product as well as a sentiment from an older set that I thought went perfectly with the winter scene that I created. I love how so many different Lawn Fawn sets can be used together... so many possibilities for card designs! ;)

I used the cute penguin from the Winter Penguin stamp set and paired it with the bunny from the Critters in the Arctic stamp set. I love how great they go together on the card - especially with their matching winter hats and scarves! ;)

I used trees from the Joy to the Woods stamp set to add some detail to my scene. To give them more dimension, I adhered some of them behind a piece of vellum and some in front.

I created the snow hills with the Stitched Hillside Border dies and also added the ice rink from the Critters in the Arctic set. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the rink is covered with Glossy Accents to make it look like real ice.

The sentiment is from an older Lawn Fawn set called Making Frosty Friends. I thought it went perfectly with the design! To complete the card,  added Pretty Pink Posh sparkling sequins to mimic snow. ;)
