Essentials By Ellen Blog Hop | February 2017 Release

Welcome to the February 2017 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’ll be showcasing several of the new products on my post today! You should have arrived from the blog of the amazingly talented Brandi Kincaid!

For my first card today, I used the new Mirror Mirror stamps and dies along with the Spa Day stamps and dies to create a card that seems a little busy and wasn't the design I had originally intended, but I love how it turned out and I think it sends a great message!

I stamped and diecut the mirror in the center of a white cardstock panel and then I added almost all of the sentiments from the Mirror Mirror stamp set around the mirror all over the white panel. I used foiled cardstock for the mirror and used Copic markers to colour the frame of the mirror and the lights.

I stamped the woman image from the Spa Day stamp set onto white cardstock, coloured her in with Copic markers, diecut her and then adhered her in front of the mirror.

For my second card, I used the new Make It Beautiful stamp set and coordinating dies to create a fun nail polish themed scene on my card with a really fun sentiment. ;)

I stamped the nail polish bottles onto white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then I coloured each of them in with different colours of Copic markers. Once I was done with the colouring, I added Glossy Accents to the top of each one to make them raised and shiny.

I diecut the outline of the bottle into the main white cardstock panel and then I adhered the panel with foam adhesive. I added the green bottle into the diceut opening, but adhered it directly onto the card base so it would be lower then the diecut panel.

I added the red and aqua bottles to the panel, one direct to paper and one with foam adhesive, stamped the sentiment and added some clear sequins. You can see how I created the card in the video below:

The Ton Stamps 2017 Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my stop on The Ton Stamps 2017 Anniversary blog hop! I am the last stop on the hop and you should have came here from Taheerah's blog. ;)

For my card I used the new City Girls Park Life stamp set (my favourite from this release) and created a fun watercolour scene on my card. I love all of the images in this set and couldn't wait to get them on a card! ;)

I stamped the two girl images onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, coloured them in with Copic markers and then fussy cut them with my scissors. To create my background scene, I stamped the bench onto watercolor cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then I heat embossed over it with clear embossing powder.

I then used Distress Inks and added the background colours to look like the ground and the sky. I love the outline of the watercolour area and think it looks so great with the stamped images.

Once the watercolour was dry, I adhered the girls to the bench with liquid adhesive and I created the sentiment banner. I used a sentiment from the new Brushed Hugs stamps set and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock. I trimmed the left edge into a banner and adhered it to the top area of my card so it didn't cover any of the watercolour scene.

Altenew Alcohol Markers Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Here's a little bit about the markers from Altenew:

For my card I used the Altenew Tulip stamp set so I could use the markers to colour in the beautiful flower images.

I used every colour that comes in this first set (except the black) to colour in my flowers. They blend beautifully together and the colours are so vibrant and beautiful!

Once I had all of the flowers coloured, I stamped a sentiment onto a white cardstock banner and adhered it onto the bottom area of the panel. I then added the finished panel to a top folding grey card base. I love the pop of colour from the flowers on the grey card base.

Hello and welcome to my stop on the Season's Givings blog hop!

I am so excited to be participating in the hop this year and I have a card (and video) to welcome the New Year and say to say thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement in the past year!

For my card, I used a whole lot of silver and gold to create a New York City themed New Year's card that has a fun window on the front and gold metallic fireworks on the inside.

I used the Hero Arts Happy New Year stamp set along with some fun silver foil polka dot acetate and the New York Skyline die from My Favorite Things to create the fun scene on my card.

I also want to take this time to say thank you to all of you for stopping by my blog and visiting my YouTube channel and commenting and liking my photos on Instagram. I love the crafty community and am so inspired by all of you every single day.

This past year brought a lot of card making but it also brought a lot of new crafty adventures... I have rediscovered my love for colouring and even started to draw. I have been painting, and practicing calligraphy and making felt ornaments and pom poms... pretty much anything and everything. For the first time I have felt like it was okay to indulge in multiple creative hobbies instead of just one and I am having so much fun! Thank you for joining me on the journey!

Holiday 2016 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop

Hello, and welcome to the Holiday 2016 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today!

You should be arriving here from the amazing Brandi Kincaid's blog - Brandi has some awesome designs in this release - amazing illustrations that capture the holidays perfectly!

I always love the EH holiday release because the stamps and dies are perfectly designed and so unique! I have so many more card ideas that I can't wait to create! For my first card today I used the new Fat Pants Stamps and Dies to create an adorable Mr. and Mrs. Snowman for the focal image on my card.

I love that you can stamp and diecut all of the pieces of the snowmen individually and then put them together. Makes it super easy to make them any colour or design for different looks every time.

I added some colour to the background panel on the card with Broken China distress ink and then I added some water and dabbed a bit off with a paper towel for a distressed look. I stamped the sentiment under the snowmen with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then I added some clear sequins for some added detail and dimension.

For my second card today, I used the new Believe die and an ornament die from the Fat Pants dies to create a soft background with a bold sentiment.

I first diecut the ornament from masking paper and I added it to my white card stock panel. I then used Broken China distress ink on an ink blending tool and pulled the colour out from the center of the ornament mask onto the white card stock panel.

When I removed the mask I was left with a white ornament shape with the aqua colour surrounding it. I diecut the top of the ornament a second time from silver sparkle card stock, cut off the very top and adhered it to the ornament on the panel.

To create the sentiment, I diecut the word Believe twice from white card stock and used various shades of green and red Copics to colour them with an ombre look. I then adhered them together, slightly offsetting them so the red would through from behind the green.I love the traditional pop of colour against the soft background.

I finished the card by adding some silver string to the top of the ornament and also added some clear sequins around the ornament on the card.

I couldn't stop at two cards, so I created a third one using the new Homespun Holiday stamp set and dies. I love these fun whimsical designs and that wreath had me at hello! I am very picking when it comes to wreath shapes and this one is perfection!

I stamped the wreath lightly with black ink and then I coloured the entire thing with Copic markers. I then stamped it a second time directly on top with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment from the Season to Sparkle stamp set on a banner cut from vellum and heat embossed it with the same silver embossing powder. I then added it to the card front with a silver sparkle banner, a strip of aqua coloured card stock and a black and white striped patterned paper.
