Equality Card Designs

Hey everyone!

I don't usually post anything on this blog but craft related things, and while this is generally a card related post, it also touches on my support of marriage equality.
I have always been a huge advocate for the LGBT community and living in a country that allows us to marry whomever we choose, it saddens me tremendously that there are people in other countries that cannot do the same.

So an idea formed in my head one day to create cards that support marriage equality and allow everyone to express their love and commitment to one another and to friends and family.
And after some thought and input from friends, I created this:

I really love those stick people and decided that they would be the signature piece of the card designs.
So with a hundred different card ideas running through my head, I sat down and started creating. These are a few of the designs I have created so far:

Congratulations

Baby Makes Three

Best Wishes

Love Lives Here

And a total 'fangirl' card, lol!! that I made for Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, who married in New York City this summer - so happy for them and I wish them all the best!

Happily Ever After

I have no idea where I will go from here. Maybe I'll open an etsy shop and donate all the proceeds to marriage equality. Time permitting, that has always been the plan.
But maybe I won't. I might just donate the cards somewhere that people can use them.

No matter what I decide, I'll continue to design and make them because they make me happy. And they give me hope that card designs like these will fill the shelves of Hallmark just as naturally as all the rest.

Until that day, I'll keep creating. ;)

Steph ;)

  5. I just have to say that I believe marriage is meant to be for one man and one woman - so I'm not a fan of these cards.

  6. Congratulations for your iniciative. I liked your cardmaking work but from now you have all my respect. I was missing some ideology and social ideas in all cardmaking world and then I found this.
I support your decision and I hope nothing stops you to say and to do what you want.
    Thanks for your attitude,
