Masculine Birthday Card

Hello!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I spent it with family and friends and just enjoyed the time together. I ended Christmas day with a terrible sinus cold though, so I'm just taking it easy this weekend and trying to recover.

So I thought I would stop in and share a masculine themed birthday card that I made for my father-in-law, who is celebrating a birthday this weekend. I actually bought the stamp awhile ago with this card in mind since him and my husband love to fish out on the water.

I love Penny Black cling stamps because they make it so easy to colour and create personalized cards. I've used them in the past for my daughter's graduation, a friend's daughter who was starting college and my husband's and my anniversary. Just really cute 'people' images that can be adapted to anyone in your life. ;)

Happy Birthday

Supplies:

I kept the card pretty simple in design to let the coloured stamped image be the focal point on the card. I just stamped the image onto Copic X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and then coloured it in with Copic markers.

For a little bit of detail and added dimension, I stamped his hat a second time on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured it and then cut it out. I then adhered it to the fully coloured image with foam adhesive. I also added glossy accents to the water in the bucket and to the latch and the handle on the tackle box.

I die cut the finished piece with the largest pierced rectangle stax die from My Favorite Things and then layered it onto Simon Says Stamp Olive Cardstock. I then adhered it to a Simon Says Stamp Khaki card base.

And the colours of the cardstock go perfectly with the Hero Arts Wet Cement envelopes! ;)
