Thanks | Creating an Ombre Sentiment

Hello!

Today I have a new card to share that features a new die from Lawn Fawn called Scripty Thanks and an older stamp set called Our Friendship Grows. I love mixing new product with old to create card designs so I'm always getting the most out of my supplies. ;)

I started off this card design with the flower images. I stamped the pot first on Neenah Solar White cardstock and then stamped the flowers. I created a mask for the flower so I could keep everything one layer but not overlap the stamping. I added the stems with a black pen so I could curve them how I wanted and then I stamped the leaves on.

I coloured the images with Copic markers and decided to not colour them the usual sunflower colours lol! I have been obsessed with aqua lately and seem to be using it in a lot of card designs, so I decided to go wild and make aqua flowers! I love how they turned out! ;)

To create the sentiment, I coloured a piece of Neenah white cardstock with the same aqua colours that I used for the flowers, making sure to colour an area that was big enough for the sentiment. Larger words work great for this technique since it allows you to see the ombre effect really well.

I started with the lightest colour first and then started pulling in the medium and darker colours in from the top and bottom edges. Once I had it blended how I wanted it, I adhered the Lawn Fawn Thanks die on top with washi tape and ran it through my bigshot.

Once it was diecut, I decided I wanted a little more of the ombre effect, so I added some of the darkest colour to the top and bottom of the word and blended it in with the lighter colours.

I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the finished sentiment and then covered the whole thing in Glossy Accents. I love how it turned out! ;)
