Celebrate | Happy New Year's Eve!

Hello and Happy New Year's Eve! Today is Wednesday, which means a new sketch challenge went live at My Favorite Things! You can find all the details about this week's sketch and how to take part here.

I decided to make a New Year's card based on the sketch to celebrate as we head into a brand new year! I absolutely love New Year's Eve and all that comes with it - the closing of one year and the promise of a new year with unlimited possibilities!! ;)

I used a lot of glitter and sparkle on this so its a little bright lol! I first stamped and embossed the word Celebrate with Gold Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger. I then cut out a star from the center of the word and glued it on top of a stack of 5 additional stars cut from Steel Grey cardstock. I love how the word is continuous but is raised off the card! ;)

I layered the Celebrate strip onto a piece of Steel Grey cardstock and adhered that onto my card base. To create the card base,  I cut out a stitched rectangle with the Blueprints 20 from silver glitter paper and adhered that onto a white top folding card base.

Thanks so much for all hanging out with me all year here on the blog! I'm so looking forward to 2015 and all that it will bring! I hope you all have an amazing, safe, memorable New Year's Eve and I'll see you next year! I'll leave you with one of my favourite movie quotes that I shared a few weeks ago with another New Year's card I had shared. I think it's worth repeating! ;) ;)

"It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Because that's what the new year is all about - getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more, and stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other, and not just tonight, but all year long." ~ Claire Morgan

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
