Hello! This week, My Favorite Things
is sharing all kinds of fun organizational tips and tricks for
organizing your crafty stash including stamps, stencil, dies, cardstock
and ink! Each day will feature a different product and will include
ideas for storage, organization and keeping everything in a system that
works for you!
The MFT Creative team will be taking part all week long, sharing what we
use to organize and what works for us. Hopefully once the week is done,
you'll have a lot of different ideas to help you get organized and
ready to create!
Today's post is all about ink storage! I use an ink storage system from Organize More for my most used inks, that sits directly in front of me on my craft desk. It holds 60 ink pads and I love that I can just look up and quickly find the ink I want to use.
The storage holder I use, holds 60 regular size ink pads and I mainly keep it filled with my MFT dye inks since those are my most used. I also keep some pigment inks in it in one row, but those will probably get moved out soon as I add more dye inks. ;)
I keep the inks in this unit organized by colour, and keep my basic inks (Versamark and my Black Licorice Hybrid Ink) along the bottom row. It is such a great unit and I wish I had the space to have a couple more. But since I don't, I utilize drawer units that sit on the desk to the left of me to hold additional ink pads.
These drawers are super handy because they hold a lot of ink pads. There are 3 drawers total in each unit (I have 2 side by side) and each drawer can hold 24 ink pads. It's a little more work to find the ink colours I want since it's more compact, but I make it work. ;)
I use the same label maker that I use for all of my other organization, to label all of my ink pads. I use 6mm label tape, since there isn't a lot of room on the side of the ink pads, and only put on the colour name. I don't worry about adding the manufacturer name.
Since I always store my ink in a system that only shows the ends, I only add colour labels to the ends of the pads. I don't bother with the sides, since for my system it isn't really needed and would just waste my label tape. I love having the colour name right there where I can see it. SO convenient!! ;)
So that's a little peek into how I store my ink pads. Make sure to head over to the My Favorite Things blog
today (and all week long) for a lot of ideas, links to the other MFT
Creative Teams blogs where they're sharing their storage ideas, and
awesome amazing giveaways!! ;)
Thank you so much for joining us this week for the MFT organization feature! We hope we've provided you with some ideas to help get you organized and keep you that way! ;)
