MFT February Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things February release! Today I have two cards to share that use the fun new Candy Jars Die-namics and Candy Jar Companions stamp set.

For my first card, I used the bunny die from the Candy Jars Die-namics and cut it four times out of felt - three times from yellow and once from pink. I wanted to have one different from the rest to go with my sentiment.

I cut out a white panel with the Inside & Outside Diagonal Stitched Square Stax and adhered the felt bunnies to it with liquid glue. I then stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice dye ink, centered underneath the felt bunnies.

I completed the card by adhering the panel onto a pink mat and then added the entire piece to a square, top-folding note card.

For my second card I created a candy jar with mints inside that move around. I first diecut the round jar from a white panel and then adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the opening. I diecut it a second time from silver foil cardstock and cut off the bottom to adhere to the acetate piece for the bottom of the candy jar.

I diecut the lid from the same silver foil paper and adhered it to the top of the jar. Then I diecut and glued together a bunch of the mints and added them behind the acetate to make them look like they were inside the candy jar. I like that they move around and look realistic inside the jar. ;)

Once I had the candy jar assembled, I stamped the coordinating sentiment underneath with Black Licorice dye ink. I adhered the whole panel onto a red cardstock piece that I cut out with the new Stitched Rectangle Frames die-namics. I love the fun stitched frame it provides. ;)

  2. When I saw the candy jars on the MFT blog, my first thought was acetate. I was surprised when nobody had been using it. It was a good idea after all!
