Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things March Release countdown! Today we have some awesome new stamps and die sets to share from Birdie Brown and they are perfect for all the dog and cat lovers out there! ;)
My card today uses the new You Make My Tail Wag stamp set. I am in love with the images and sentiments in this set... so cute and funny! I decided to create a little scene for my card with one of the dog images and the hydrant. I couldn't resist using that sentiment lol!!
To create my card, I first stamped the dog and the hydrant images onto a piece of white cardstock. Once I had them stamped, I coloured them both in with Copic markers. I stamped them both again onto masking paper and covered up the images so I could add some inking for the sky and the ground.
I used Sno Cone ink for the sky and Sour Apple ink for the ground and applied it with a round ink blending tool. The square panel that I used for the scene was diecut with the Stitched Square Stax die-namics so it has the great stitching detail around the edges.
Once I had the ground and sky all done, I removed the mask and added some glossy accents to the dog's nose and the circle on the front of the hydrant. I love the little bit of added detail and dimension it provides.
I added the sentiment from the stamp set directly underneath the coloured image in the open area on the grass. I then layered it onto a piece of Steel Grey cardstock cut slightly larger. I stamped the white card base with an awesome paw print background stamp coming out later this week and added a piece of vellum before adhering my finished panel. ;)
