MFT Die-namics Design | March

Hello! Today I have a couple of cards to share for the March My Favorite Things Die-namics Design challenge. This month we're focusing on cover-up dies. I decided to go foily (is that a word lol!) and sparkly (surprise, surprise) for this months challenge! ;)

**Just wanted to mention that the teal foil paper and the silver glitter paper DID NOT want to photograph well, so I apologize that they don't reflect the proper colours.

For my first card I used the Polaroid cover-up die-namics. This is one of my favourite ever because it lets you create a Polaroid photo image almost as big as a card front! How fun is that!?!

I cut out the Polaroid from white cardstock and then used the open space to create my photo area. Using the open space allowed me to create an image that would fit perfectly behind the frame. I stamped the super girl on a separate piece of white paper, coloured her with Copic markers and cut her out.

To get her belt, her boots and her cape super sparkly, I covered them with a few coats of clear Wink of Stella glitter marker. I love the shimmer you can achieve if you really layer it on. ;)

Once I had her coloured and cut out, I cut a piece of silver glitter paper to fit behind her and used a couple different sized stars (from various Blueprints die sets) to cut out open stars around her. Once I had them all cut out, I adhered the whole piece onto a piece of teal foil cardstock to match the colour of her dress.

I completed the card by stamping the sentiment (from the You're Super stamp set) directly onto the Polaroid frame with black ink and then adhered the finished piece onto a white, top folding card base.

For my second card I used the exact same silver glitter paper and teal foil paper with another favourite cover-up of mine, Floral Fusion. I love the beautiful, intricate flowers you get with this die and using glitter and foil papers makes it even prettier!

I cut the die from the foil paper and then cut it a second time with the silver paper. I popped out all of the insides from the teal piece and replaced them with the silver glitter pieces. I added a piece of typing paper covered in adhesive to the back before adhering the silver pieces so they would stick inside easily.

Once I had it all put back together, I adhered the whole panel to a white, top folding card base. I then diecut two stitched fishtail banners from white cardstock and vellum and then adhered them together. I stamped the sentiment with black ink, trimmed down the side and then adhered it directly to the card.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog today for more great projects from the creative team for this months Die-namics Design challenge. ;)

  1. Two amazing cards, I love the sparkle--so much of it I bet it is awesome IRL! Your second card has the most fabulous sentiment! I must follow that rule.
