MFT April Creative Challenge | Fantastic Florals

Hello and welcome to the April Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things! This month it's all about flowers. After some nice weather here, we are slowly dipping back into the cold temps, so a challenge using bright flowery images is exactly what I need until spring actually gets here!

For my card I used the new Modern Blooms stamp set and paired it with the Bold Statements stamp set to create a flower card with a big sentiment. I love stamping flowers around other images (or in this case the sentiment) so it looks like its all one image.

I stamped the sentiment first in black ink and then created a mask to cover up the letters while I stamped the flowers around them. I used Summer Splash ink and Lemon Chiffon ink to stamp all the flowers and then I stamped the centers with Grout Gray ink.

I thought the flower centers were too light so I ended up adding little dot details with a black gel pen. I also went around all of the flowers and leaves with a white gel pen for a bit of detail.

Once I had all of the flowers and leaves stamped, I added a few more dots around the flowers with the same black gel pen and also added a few clear sequins.

I completed the card by stamping the Pinstripe background onto a Grout Gray card base and heat embossed it with Silver Pearl embossing powder from Ranger. I love subtle tone on tone dimension with this embossing powder. I then added the stamped panel to the card base and also added two strips of black cardstock on either side.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog today for more great projects from the design team for this months challenge. ;)
