Holiday Cards 2015 - 1 Stencil 3 Ways

Hello! Today I have 3 cards to share that all feature the Tim Holtz Poinsettia stencil with different mediums to create different looks. I love getting the most out of a product, especially during the holidays since you only use the products for a couple short months.

For the first card I used the Poinsettia stencil with Distress Inks (Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio) and applied it through the stencil with a sponge dauber.

I used masking tape to cover the leaves while I did the flowers and then did the same when I did the leaves. This helped to prevent the colours from mixing and going into the areas I didn't want them.

Once I had all of the colour applied, I kept the stencil adhered on top and then I added Ranger Matte Texture Paste to the entire area. This texture paste dries completely matte and gives the finished image such a unique look with great texture. Such a fun product!

Once the paste was dry I trimmed the panel down so it would leave a white border on either side and then I adhered the sentiment strip directly on top. To make the sentiment really stand out I added a small strip of black cardstock at the top and bottom of the panel.

The second card uses the stencil with silver Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Paste. I am in love with this stuff... it creates the most awesome textured sparkle and comes in a bunch of great colours.

Once I had the panel done and it was dry, I trimmed it down with a diagonal edge and adhered it to the bottom of a white top-folding card base. I stamped the sentiment directly above along the diagonal line and added a strip pf black cardstock in between.

For the third card, I adhered the stencil to a white cardstock panel and added Versamark ink to the entire area. You just want to make sure you really press it through all the stencil openings so you get a complete image once you remove the stencil.

I then covered the entire area with Ranger gold embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed it down to fit across the card front, added two black cardstock strips and then stamped the sentiment directly underneath.

I love that I was able to get three very different looking cards from one stencil and created 3 holiday cards in one sitting. It's such a great way to stretch both your supplies and your time since you end up with three finished projects. ;)

I'll be back with more holiday card ideas! Thanks for stopping by! ;)
