December 2015 | Paper Doll Layout

Happy New Year's Eve!! Today I have my final paper doll layout of 2015 to share. Nothing like leaving it until the last day of the year lol! ;)

I decided to feature a favourite holiday movie for my December layout - The Polar Express. I love watching it each year, even though it's usually a solo event since my family doesn't really like it... they think it's boring. ;)

I used the Adam doll once again (he has been a lot of characters this year) to create the conductor (Tom Hanks in the movie) and included some downloaded colouring page images.
I get asked a lot about the text papers that I use to stamp the dolls on and most of it has been older papers from my stash. But I was getting low, so I decided to do a search online to see if I could download some dictionary print that I could just print out as I needed it. I found one on Etsy (the seller was Cobraprints) for less than $2 that works perfectly! And now I can just print it out (use a laser printer if you're going to use Copic markers with it) as I need it and stamp my dolls on it. ;)

I created the night sky by adding some distress inks to a patterned paper from the Let's Bokeh in the Snow paper pad from Lawn Fawn and then I added 'snow' with the SSS Falling Snow stencil and white embossing paste. I love how it turned out!

I found free colouring page images of a train and a 'believe' ticket (one of main part of the movie), printed them out and coloured them in with Copic markers. I then cut them out and added them to my layout.

I created the conductor hat on my own by cutting out a shape that I think looks similar lol! and then I added the black brim and a sparkly gold piece in the center. I stamped his clothes on striped pattern paper and I don't know if I love how it turned out.. it kind of looks like pyjamas to me haha! ;)

To see how I created the layout you can watch the video below:

Thanks for joining me all year for this fun series! I had no idea when I started the year off using the New Year's Eve movie quote that it would inspire me to create 11 more layouts inspired by my favourite movies and TV but I haae LOVED creating them!! And I have loved sharing them with all of you.. your comments and love of the series have been so awesome!

I'll see you in 2016 when we start all over again!! Happy New Year!! ;)
