Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to my stop on the Newton's Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop! I am thrilled to be taking part in this fun holiday event this year and had so much fun creating my card!

I used the new Christmas Cuddles stamp set to create a masked one layer card featuring the adorable cuddling kitties!I love how a little masking can create such amazing scenes without any bulk or dimension.

I created a circle mask by cutting a piece of masking paper to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then diecutting a circle from it. I traced the circle area onto the white cardstock panel so I could position the kitties and the masking for the ground. I then stamped the kitties, added the masking for the ground and a mask over the stamped image and then adhered the full circle mask on top.

I added Distress inks (Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves) to the circle area with an ink blending tool until I had it looking like a night sky. I then added watered down white paint to the sky by flicking it on with a paint brush to look like falling snow.

I carefully removed the mask for the ground from under the circle mask and then I added some Hickory Smoke Distress ink to create the ground that the kitties are sitting on,. Once I had all of the inking done, I removed the masks and coloured the kitties in with Copic markers.

I completed the card by adding some clear sequins and silver stickles to the night sky and then stamping my sentiment underneath. I didn't want to use the entire sentiment, so I carefully cut off the top line and then stamped it onto the card with black ink.

To see how I created my card, you can watch the video below:
