Hello and welcome to Day 4 of the My Favorite Things February release
countdown!
Today I have two cards to share using the new Recipe for Happiness stamp set and coordinating die-namics. This set is so fun and includes an adorable chef image in some fun poses with a bunch of great accessory and sentiment stamps to go with.
For my first card I first stamped and coloured my chef image with Copic markers and then I cut him out with the coordinating die.
I created a background panel for the chef by die-cutting an inlay frame with stitching detail using the new Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX die-namics. I love the subtle look of the stitching even though the background is completely flat and one dimensional.
I added brick detail to the white panel using the Small Brick stencil and Grout Gray ink. I just used an ink blending tool to add the colour, starting darker in the center area and go lighter as I went out. Once the brick was done, I stamped on the sentiment with Black Licorice and then adhered the chef with foam adhesive. I also added some sequins for some added dimension.
For my second card, I used another chef image and paired him with the new Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window die-namics. I love how it kinda looks like the chef is in a picture frame. ;)
To create this card, I first stamped, coloured nad diecut the chef image and then I created the base of the card. I diecut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle and then I diecut the Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window from the top center area. I love this die because it cuts out the window and leaves a double line of stitching detail around each edge of the window.
I stamped on the sentiment and then I added the chef to the inside of the window by adhering his feet behind the panel. I the added foam adhesive to botht eh chef image and the frame piece and adhered the whole panel to a top-folding Grout Gray card base. The dimension really adds to the scene and really makes the chef pop off the card! ;)
