MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #263

Hello and welcome to this weeks MFT Wednesday sketch challenge. I love the simple design of the sketch this month and decided to turn the circle detail on the sketch into a coffee cup! ;)

I diecut the mug and the all of its components from white cardstock and then I used Copic markers to colour everything in. I like doing this versus diecutting direct from coloured cardstock because I can get a lot more shading in my design which makes it look more dimensional and realistic.

Once I had all of the pieces of the mug cut out and coloured, I adhered everything together and then I created the background on my card base.

I adhered a piece of grey chevron patterned paper across a white cardstock panel an then I diecut it with a pierced rectangle die. I adhered it to a white card base and then diecut a stitched banner from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it with black ink.

I added a bunch of glitter to the coffee area and the red heart on the mug because who doesn't love a sparkly coffee mug?!?

To complete the card I added the mug to the chevron grey piece with foam adhesive and tucked the sentiment banner underneath. I also added some clear sequins onto the card base and the steam from the coffee.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Challenge blog to see this weeks sketch, more card samples inspired by it and the a chance to take part and win a GC to the MFT store. ;)
