MFT March Blueprints Challenge | All Buttoned Up

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things March Blueprints challenge. This month we're using Blueprints die-namics that include buttons. I don't really like the bulk on my cards that you get when you use actual buttons, so I love having the option to cut them from cardstock. And you can customize your buttons to be any colour you want! ;)

For my card today I used buttons as focal points on parts of my scene. I love how it gives the final card design a homemade feel and adds some fun and unexpected detail to plain images.

I stamped and diecut all of my images from Smooth White cardstock and then I coloured everything in with Copic markers. I used a few shades in each colour to add depth and dimension and then I cut out a bunch of buttons from the Blueprints 18 set and coloured in 3 of them the match the images I was planning to adhere them to.

Once I had the yellow, blue and white (I added some grey shading) buttons coloured, I adhered them each to a 3 plain white buttons, one on top of another. This made the final buttons a little thicker and gave them a bit of dimension.

I adhered all the pieces of my scene to make it look the elephant was sitting in the clouds and then I stamped  the sentiment with black ink onto the bottom cloud. I adhered the buttons to the sun, cloud and balloon and stitched them all on with white thread.

Thanks so much for stopping by for this months Blueprints Sketch challenge. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see what the rest of the team created.
