MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #271

Hello! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I really love participating in these challenges because they push me to create cards with designs I may not have thought of on my own... they really help to change things up a bit! ;)

I decided to make a pet themed card with this weeks sketch and keep it pretty simple overall. This sketch works with very minimal details or you can go completely opposite and layer it up.

For the strip down the middle of the card, I stamped the Paw Print background onto a white cardstock panel and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once it was all embossed, I added blue and green inks to the whole piece with Distress inks and an ink blending tool. I love the soft colour that the ink blending adds to the background.

I stamped, coloured and diecut a cat image from the I Knead You set and adhered it to the bottom left area of the paw print strip. I then stamped the thought bubble and the little fish from the same set and added them above the cat to make it look like he was dreaming of a snack. ;)

To complete the card I added a silver sparkle strip to the sides of the stamped panel and I added some clear sequins scattered on the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to visit the MFT Challenge blog to see more cards created with this weeks sketch and a chance to take part and win a prize! ;)

  1. There's a paw print background stamp? How did I not know this? :P Love this card... of course I am partial to grey kitties these days.
