Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things
August release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to
the August release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products. ;)
For my card today I used the new Stitched Whimsical Waves Die-namics with the new Soak up the Fun stamp set (and coordinating dies) to create a fun water scene. ;)
I created the background on this card by repeatedly diecutting the Stitched Whimsical Waves on a cardstock panel and then alternating the ink colours on each piece before fitting them all back together and adhering them flat onto another cardstock piece.
I added some splashes of water onto the finished background and then dabbed it up with a paper towel to create the fun water splotches. I love the texture this simple technique adds to the design. (stay tuned to this weeks MFTv episode for another card created with this fun background technique)
I stamped and diecut some of the images from the Soak up the Fun stamp set and adhered them to the panel to create the scene and then I stamped the sentiment directly onto one of the waves in the background. I love the snorkel on the cute frog image! ;)
Thanks
so much for joining me for day 2 of the August release countdown. All
of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be
available in the MFT online store at 10pm EST on August 2, 2016.
Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas from the creative team and giveaways! ;)
