MFT Snowflake Sparkle Card Kit | Day 1

Hello and welcome to the 2nd day of the My Favorite Things countdown to the Snowflake Sparkle card kit. This kit is so sparkly and elegant and makes me giddy for the snow to start flying... I know I'm in a minority there lol!!

For today's card I white heat embossed three of the large snowflakes onto a piece of white cardstock and then I used the Sour Apple, Tropical Teal and Cornflower inks from the kit to add colour behind each of the snowflakes using an ink blending tool.

I concentrated most of the colour in the center of the snowflakes and then I let it fade out as I went out from the snowflake making sure to let all of the three colours blend together. Once I had the colour applied I added some spritzes of water onto the panel and dabbed it off with a paper towel. This gave the panel a distressed look and I really love the final result.

Once I was done all the inking, I added the sentiment with Black Licorice dye ink and I diecut the panel with a scalloped edge rectangle die. I adhered the panel to a piece of the silver glitter cardstock and then added it to a green card base. I love the mix of the green with the blues... my favourite colour combination! ;)

The Snowflake Sparkle card kit will officially be available for purchase tonight at 10pm EST! I'll be back then with another card to share using this amazing kit! Thanks so much for stopping by! ;)

  5. Hi Stephanie. I think we are both in the minority when it comes to snow but Winter is my favorite time of year and a snowy day is a very happy day so this set is right up my alley. This card is awesome. Love the scalloped rectangle and the colors are beautiful. Love the effect of the water spritzed which I too like to do. This card is fun!

  6. We don't get much snow here in SC but we go crazy with happiness (and unreadiness) when we get it. This card looks do-able....pretty and not too difficult. Thanks.
