MFT January 2017 Card Kit | No Place Like Home

Hello and welcome to the countdown for the My Favorite Things January 2017 card kit, No Place Like Home. This month's kit might be a new favourite... I love everything that comes in it and had so much fun creating with it! ;)

For my card today, I created a watercolour scene by first drawing out some lines with a black pen and then I watercoloured the scene with Prima watercolours.

Once I had the scene watercoloured and I had let it dry, I diecut the house and tree from using the Home Sweet Home dies from the kit and I added colour to them using Distress Inks and an ink blending tool.

I used the Small English Brick Wall stencil to add some detail to the house before adhering all the pieces on and then I added to roof, door, windows and chimney.

Some of my green watercolour ran up into the sky area, so I used the same black pen that I used for the horizon and sidewalk, and I tuned the blob of green paint into a couple of bushes lol!

You can see how I created today's card in this weeks episode of MFTv.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas from the creative team using this awesome new kit. The kit will officially be available in the MFT online store on Tuesday January 24th at 9pm EST.
