I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was pretty relaxed after a pretty busy couple of weeks so it was much needed. Today I spent some time creating some cards featuring the new Simon Says Stamp exclusive dies that were released a little while ago. I really love these dies... such great quality and awesome designs! :-)
Oh Happy Day

When I saw this die, I really wanted to create a tone on tone background with it, so that's what I did here. I cut the words out a bunch of times from the Desert Storm cardstock and then glued them all onto a panel of the same colour of cardstock. It took a little while but I love how it turned out - exactly what I envisioned in my head.
Then I just used the same die and paper for the sentiment across the front. I glued 3 of the cut out words together on top of one another to create some dimension and give it a chipboard look. It looks really great in real life.
The butterfly's are punched out of patterned paper and then I added glossy accents on top to give them some shine.
Thank You

For this card, I cut the Fresh Daisies from Neenah solar white cardstock three times and coloured them all the same with Copic markers. I then adhered them to Hero Arts eggshell layering paper. The one on the right is just a single flower and the one on the left is the other two layered on top of each other for dimension.
I added some punched butterfly's and layered everything onto a Hero Arts notecard stamped with the lattice background stamp.
The sentiment is from one of my favourite Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp sets.

And for this last card I used the star border die. I love that you get all of these little stars cut out all at once. And you can keep the little cut out stars for confetti! :-)
I diecut the stars out of Neenah solar white and then layered it over a subtle orange polka dot pattern. I then cut out a couple of bigger stars using a Spellbinders die and and added my sentiment banner underneath.
Such awesome quality dies and at a great price! I look forward to creating with the rest of them soon!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Be back soon! :-)

ReplyDeleteCute cards! I love how you used the happy day die cut in the background and foreground.
ReplyDeleteI found you through an old post on Kim McGuire's blog and I am so glad I did! I love your use of these dies and your choices of color and layer. And I am an admitted butterfly addict too, so cards with butterflies always make me smile. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! They are all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI so love all these cards but the die cut one is the bomb!!! Got two dies from them but still haven't cut them yet!!!
