Thinking of You | Creating a Textured Background

Hello and happy Friday!! Today I have a card to share that has a really bold background lol!! I created it with a stencil and distress inks and a fun, new to me product called Goosebumps that adds a really cool texture to your projects! ;)

I love how easy it is to create a unique background design, simply by moving around a stencil and using it with various colours of ink. That's what I did for this card - I added the Pumice Stone ink circles first, then positioned my stencil over top to create a pattern and then applied Broken China distress ink.

I added a sentiment that I stamped and heat embossed on the Wrapped Mailing Label die and then completed the card by adding some diecut black hearts that I covered with glitter and glossy accents.

Definitely a card that is quite bold and colourful, but I love the cool texture on the background that I got when I added the Goosebumps directly over the blue circles before I removed the stencil. It is such a neat product that goes on so easily. And it dries super fast, so you're not sitting around waiting for it. Love that!

It comes in both a spray and dauber bottle, but I prefer the dauber since you have so much more control over where the product is going. I used shimmer for this card, but you can also get it in clear.

You can see how I created the card in the video below:

I also wanted to share that the newest release from Simon Says Stamp came out today and it's a fun one! It's called Teacher's Pet and features some really great stamps and dies for back to school! You can see a card and video that I created with the new release on the Simon blog here.

Have a great weekend!! ;)
