Hello! Today I have a shaker card to share that I created with the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Ornaments stamps and dies. I love the ornaments in this set! They're the perfect size to use on a standard size card without being too over the top. ;)
I decided to use two of the die ornaments to create a simple shaker card with minimal details. I used the Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder for my sentiment and the ornament (string and top). I love the elegant look I was able to get by adding sequins that went well with the gold colour of the embossing powder. I think keeping the card simple also added to the elegance.
I positioned and diecut the ornaments first, and then heat embossed the sentiment on the blank area I had on the card. I also diecut the ornament tops out of a piece of cardstock that I had heat embossed with the same embossing powder. I love how they look like they're floating in air since they're adhered onto a clear piece of acetate.
I added a lot of sequins inside the ornaments because I wanted them to be really full. I love having the white carstock layered onto more white cardstock with just the top of the ornament and string being the only detail. The shadows from it being raised on foam adhesive, and the sequins are what emphasize the ornaments shape and it looks so pretty to me.
This is definitely one of my favourite cards that I've created. ;)
You can see how I created the card in the video below:
