Hello! I have lot's of fun stuff to share with you today! It was officially announced yesterday that I've joined the My Favorite Things Creative team! Yay! I have loved creating with MFT products for a long time and I am thrilled to be creating with them! ;)
Today is the first day of the November New Release Countdown and I have three projects to share with you using the new products! ;)
You Warm My Heart Card
First up is a card I created using the new Blueprints 20 Die-namics. I love all of the Blueprints dies but I think this one might be my new favourite! It has so many great pieces to create fun card designs.
To create my card, I cut out the heart square four times and adhered them onto a square I cut out of Steel Grey card stock with one of the Stitched Square Die-namics. Before I adhered them, I coloured three of the hearts with aqua coloured Copic markers and the fourth one with red markers. I coloured them all so they had a bit of shading on the left side to give them some dimension.
To make the red heart stand out even more, I coloured it with a clear glitter marker and then covered it entirely with Glossy Accents. I also added a gem to it before it fully dried for a little more detail. When I adhered it to the card, I used foam adhesive to make it pop off the card.
The sentiment is from the Perk Up stamp set that was released last month. To make it work for my design, I cut it apart and stamped it in two parts rather than in a straight line how it was intended. Don't be afraid to change your stamps to fit your card design! ;)
Mitten Ornaments
My next project features the new Cozy Mitten Die-namics. These coordinate perfectly with the Cozy Mittens stamp set, but I decided to use them on their own to create some felt ornaments for the Christmas tree.
I diecut four mittens in total - two out of Blu Raspberry felt and two out of Razzle Berry felt. I also cut out two trees from Jellybean Green felt and two hearts from the Blueprints 20 Die-namics with Razzle Berry Felt.
I first stitched the little trees and hearts onto the mittens and then I added stitching around the outside edging of all of the mittens as well as the bottom cuff. I love the handmade look that the stitching adds! It took a little while, but I just hand stitched them while I was watching some tv. ;)
Once I had all four mittens stitched, I cut out a mitten from both Blu Raspberry and Razzle Berry card stock. I added liquid glue to both sides of the cardstock mitten and adhered the felt ones on either side. Before I fully adhered them, I added some twine in between so they had a way to hang off the tree. ;)
Wishing You Love Card
My last project for today features the new Nordic Knits stamp set. I love the background possibilites with these stamps and had fun creating this fun patterned card.
I used the largest stamp and stamped it twice on the bottom half of my card at an angle and then used Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once it was cool, I added Blu Raspberry and Grape Jelly dye inks with an ink blending tool to the stamped piece.
I added a strip of Steel Grey cardstock at the top of the stamped piece and stamped my sentiment from the Merry Messages stamp set. To make the word 'love' stand out, I stamped it on one of the banner from the Blueprints 20 Die-namics and adhered it onto the stamped piece.
Thank you so much for stopping by for day 7 of the MFT New Release countdown! The new release products will officially be available on the My Favorite Things website on November 11, 2014 at 10pm EST.
