Sweater Weather | MFT November Release Countdown

Hello! Today is the third day of the countdown to the November release from My Favorite Things! I have two cards to share that feature the new Comfy Sweater die-namics, Cozy Greetings stamp set and Sweater Stitch Background stamp.

http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/

For the first card, I used the fun new Comfy Sweater die-namics and cut a sweater out of Blue Raspberry felt. I love the die because not only do you get the full sweater die, you also get the dies to cut out just the collar and the sleeve and waist cuffs. I love how realistic it makes the sweater look!

I thought the sweater was too plain on its own, so I also cut out a heart from the Heart Stax die-namics with Razzle Berry felt and adhered it in the center. I also added a sequin I diecut from vellum and a clear gem. ;)

The sentiments in the Cozy Greetings stamp set are perfect for the sweaters and there is a great variety including everything from the one I used here, to birthday to holidays. I love when you can get a lot of different uses out of a stamp set.

My second card uses the smaller sweater from the Comfy Sweater die-namics. I cut it out of white cardstock and coloured it in with Copic markers. I adhered it onto a tag from the Stitched Traditional Tag Stax and also stamped on the sentiment.

Since I was adhering the white tag onto a white card base, I wanted to add a little bit of detail to the card without taking away from the tag. I used the new Stitched Sweater background stamp with Grout Gray dye ink, and stamped a random pattern on the card for the tag to sit on.

I love the way the muted colour adds detail to the card but makes the sweater pop even more. I used the row of heart stamps from the new Cozy Mittens stamp set to add some hearts to the front of the sweater and also added some Steel Grey ribbon behind the top of the tag before I adhered it to the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by for day 5 of the MFT New Release countdown! The new release products will officially be available on the My Favorite Things website on November 11, 2014 at 10pm EST.

  15. Both of your cards make it fun to await for winter to wear those comfy sweaters. Fantastic is the effect that results from stamping the background in such subtle ink both outside and inside of the card. Cheers!
