Hello! Today I have a card to share that was created with the Simon Says Stamp February 2015 card kit. This month's kit is filled with all kinds of fun elements, including beautiful Crate Paper 6x6 patterned papers, SSS clear embossing powder, an amazing stamp set and all kinds of other fun stuff!
My card today uses the large sentiment in the stamp set, the clear embossing powder and the swatch of sticky back canvas to create a fun emboss resist technique. I love how artsy it ended up looking by using the sticky back canvas rather than just regular paper. It's adds a fun texture and an uneven, distressed edge that I love! ;)
I stamped the sentiment in the center with Versamark ink and embossed it with the clear embossing powder. I then applied the Festive Berries distress ink over top with a foam blending tool to add the colour and let the sentiment show through - it resists the ink since it's embossed with the embossing powder.
To add more detail to the card I stamped some hearts around the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink and also added some sequins and silver stickles. I love how adding those little touches really make the card design come together.
I adhered the sticky back canvas piece to the xoxo patterned paper from the kit and then adhered the entire piece to a white card base.
