MFT February Creative Challenge

Hello! Today I have a couple of cards to share that I created for the February My Favorite Things creative challenge. This month the theme is bunnies, chicks, pastels and whatever else makes you think of Easter time! ;)

I used the Somebunny stamp set for both of my cards... I love the adorable images in this set! My first card uses the bunnies and some masking to create a one layer card.

I first stamped the center bunny and then stamped it again on some masking paper. I cut it out and layered it over top of the original stamped image and then stamped a bunny on either side of it. When I removed the mask, it made it look like the outside bunnies have their arms behind the center one.

Once I had all of the bunnies stamped, I coloured them in with Copic markers and then stamped the sentiment directly underneath them with black ink. I diecut the finished piece with a stitched rectangle die and then matted it with a piece of Persimmon cardstock. I stamped the white card base with diagonal stripes using Grout Gray ink and adhered the finished panel on top with foam adhesive.

For my second card I went with yellows and whites to create a pastel coloured friendship card. I used the adorable chick images from the stamp set and stamped them so they were looking at each other.

Once I had the chicks stamped and coloured, I diecut them using the Pierced Heart Stax die-namics. I also cut a panel from Banana Split cardstock and diecut the same heart from it as well. Then I adhered the yellow panel to a white top-folding card base with foam adhesive.

Once I had the yellow piece adhered, I glued the white stamped heart piece inside the opening without foam adhesive. This gives the card great dimension and really makes the chicks stand out. I created the sentiment by stamping it on a diecut banner using black ink and adhered it over the bottom area of the heart.

I added some sequins and stickles for some added detail and also coloured both of the chicks with a clear Wink of Stella glitter marker.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog today for more great projects from the creative team for this months challenge. ;)
