Enjoy Card | MFT and Xyron

Hello! Today I have a fun card to share that uses both My Favorite Things and Xyron products together! I was so excited when I heard that we were doing a fun collaboration with Xyron because they have some really great products that make card making so easy and fun!

For my card, I used some My Favorite Things stamps and dies paired with some great Xyron adhesives to create an interactive card that has removable magnets! ;)

To create the card, I first started with the watercoloured background. I added some water to my watercolour piece and then lightly added Summer Splash ink on a wet brush to create a light blue background for my window to sit on.

Once it was completely dry, I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die to give it a nice finished edge and then I stamped the sentiment on it using Versamark ink and the Brushstroke Birthday Greetings stamp set. I covered it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and heat set it for a nice subtle silver look.

I used the Xyron tape runner to adhere the watercolor piece to the card front because it's super strong and really helped the warped piece of paper (from the water) lie completely flat on the card front.

I diecut the window using the Windows die-namics and added a piece of vellum behind it. I then added foam adhesive around the edges on the two sides and the bottom. This allows it to pop up off the card front but the top part stays open.

I diecut three butterflies from the new Plaid 6x6 paper pad and adhered one directly on top of the window. For the other two, I used the Xyron magnet tape and added it to the back of the butterflies wings.

I love the magnet tape - it's strong enough to create magnets but it's nice and thin so your project isn't super bulky when your done. It worked perfectly for my card design because it allowed the magnets to fit inside the window and easily come out when the recipient wants to use them as magnets.

And the card still looks great without them inside because you can see the soft blue watercolour background through the vellum window. I love cards that offer a little unexpected interactive element! ;)

Thanks for stopping by for my project featuring My Favorite Things and Xyron. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog here for more fun projects featuring these two awesome companies!
