MFT July Creative Challenge | Gift Cards

Hello and welcome to the July My Favorite Things Creative Challenge. This month we are creating gift card holders with MFT products. I love creating custom gift card holders because you can really make them specific to the person you are giving them to.

For my gift card holder, I created a simple tri-fold card to show how easy it is to create a small, gift card sized card with limited supplies.

I used Persimmon cardstock and cut it down so there was about an inch all the way around the gift card on the inside panel. I scored and folded both the bottom and top sides and added some of the new Dots and Stripes Sorbet patterned papers to all of the panels, cutting it slightly smaller so there was a small border of cardstock around each patterned paper.

I used the Gift Card Groove dies on the inside piece of patterned paper so it will hold the gift card in place when the card is closed.

I stamped a sentiment from the I Knead You stamp set onto a sentiment strip and then I adhered a cat image from the same stamp set onto the top flap of the gift card holder. I coloured the cat with Copic markers and cut it out with the coordinating die.

I made sure that when I adhered the cat to the card, it would cover the word Meow and only show the Just for You part of the sentiment. I love that the first part of the sentiment is unexpected since you can't see it when it's closed. ;)

Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see what the other creative members created for this months challenge!
