MFT July Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things July release countdown. Today's release features lots of balloons, a great new brushstroke sentiment stamp set and a fun present die that's perfect for celebration cards! ;)

For my first card, I used the new Brushstroke Birthday Greetings die-namics to cut out the words Happy Birthday from a white cardstock panel.

To create the colourful striped pattern underneath the words, I used some removable tape and adhered it in strips, one at a time and added dye ink with an ink blending tool. Once I had a stripe done, I moved the tape down and added the next colour.

I adhered the finished panel onto a Razzle Berry cardstock mat and then adhered that to a Sour Apple card base with foam adhesive for some added dimension. To complete the card, I added some clear sequins and silver stickles around the words.

For my second card I used the new Birthday Present die-namics and the Pierced Square Frames die-namics to create a square birthday card. I love that the present die creates a present that stands out on the card.

I created the present with Sno Cone cardstock and stamped it with Sno Cone ink and the diagonal background stamp so it didn't look so plain. I cut the bow from two shades of silver glitter paper and adhered it onto the present.

I stamped Happy Birthday (from the Birthday Bears stamp set) on two corners of the pierced frame and adhered it with foam adhesive so it was raised off the card like the present and then I adhered the whole panel onto a top-folding Grout Gray card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by for day 2 of the MFT July Release countdown! The new release products will officially be available on the My Favorite Things website on July 7th at 10pm EST!

  5. Both are pretty, but really like the present one. I love how you stamped the same sentiment on the corners repeatedly in two corners such a clever thing to do I would have never thought to do that, but will now, thanks!
