MFT July Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favourite Things July release countdown. This month we're going to party! It's MFT's 9th birthday this month and we've got a bunch of new birthday themed products to help us celebrate!!

Today I have two cards to share using the new Blueprints 26 Die-namics and the Piece of Cake stamp set. This new Blueprints is one of my all-time favourites! The designs included are so fun and can be used for lot's of occasions! ;)

I love the balloon bottom edge die that comes in the new Blueprints set. It goes completely across the front of a top-folding card so it looks like the whole top area is the balloon. This would be super fun to layer on top of one another to look like a big cluster of balloons.

For my design I decided to cut it from white cardstock and ink it up with Ripe Raspberry dye ink with an ink blending tool. I then cut the smaller, full balloon from white cardstock and added Summer Splash ink to that one.

I adhered the blue balloon with foam adhesive and then I tied silver metallic thread to both of the balloons and glued them together under a bow I cut from white cardstock and coloured with a silver glitter marker. I love the added dimension and detail the real string adds.

I finished the card by stamping on a sentiment with black ink from the new Birthday Wishes and Balloons stamp set coming out later this week! ;)

For my second card I used the new Piece of Cake stamp set and created a custom piece of cake with the stamps that come separate but stamp together to form a slice of cake.

I stamped the cake first and then stamped on the icing with Razzle Berry ink. I love the bright pink with the chocolate cake. ;) I stamped the candles last and made sure to add the flames and wicks that all come separately in the stamp set. I love stamps like this so you can stamp them all in different colours.

I stamped the sentiment in black from the same stamp set and then I cut the panel out with the new Pierced Rectangle Frames coming out late this week.

I adhered the frame and the cake with foam adhesive for some added dimension and then matted it on another piece of white cardstock before adhering the whole thing to a Grout Gray card base. I stamped and embossed the card base with the Balloon Strings background stamp coming later this week as well... it's a fun one! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by for day 5 of the MFT July Release countdown! The new release products will officially be available on the My Favorite Things website on July 7th at 10pm EST!
