MFT February Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown! This months release includes an awesome assortment of new products including farm animals, cooking and a whole lot of colour! ;)

For my first card today, I used the new Farm-tastic stamp set (and coordinating die-namics) along with the new Farm Fence die-namics, to create a little farm scene on my card.

I combined both cardstock and patterned paper to create the scene for my pig and tractor. I love the dimension that different shades of cardstock add to a card design when layered together.

I added colour to my stamped images with Copic markers, diecut them with the coordinating dies and then added them to my scene by tucking them into the grass. I also included the new Farm Fence in the background of the design for some added interest. ;)

This card is also a part of the free February release class, so you'll be able to downlaod PDF instructions and watch the video to see how I created this card as soon as the class goes live on release day! We offer 5 free classes every month with each new release that feature both PDF instructions/supplies as well as a video recreating the cards.

For my second card today, I used the cow image from the Farm-tastic stamp and combined it with the grass image from the Ewe are the Best stamp set and the Cow Print stencil to create my little scene.

I first stamped my images and coloured them in with Copic markers and then I diecut them with the coordinating dies. I added some detail to the white cardstock panel by diecutting it with a stitched rectangle and adding a faint cow print design to the background with the Cow Print stencil and Grout Gray ink.

I used an ink blending tool to lightly add colour to the white panel. I added the grey colour darker in the middle area and got lighter as I worked my way out to the edge of the design. Once the inking was done, I adhered the grass and the cow image over top and positioned them slightly off center.

To complete the card, I added the white panel onto a black cardstock mat and adhered it to a Stone Gray top-folding card base. I stamped my sentiment directly under the grass area and added some sequins for some added dimension.

Thank you for stopping by for Day 5 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. The new release will officially be available on the MFT website on February 2, 2016 at 10pm est!
