Hello! I am super excited to be taking part in Misti May-nia this month! Iliana from My Sweet Petunia is giving away a Mini Misti every single day this month and today you have a chance to win one here on my blog, just by leaving a comment! More on that below! ;)
Today I thought I would share a couple of cards showing one of my favourite ways to use my Mini Misti.... Copic markers and heat embossing!
I love the look of heat embossing with Copic markers but it can be a bit tricky to achieve this look since heat embossed images can damage the tips of your Copic markers. But with the Misti, creating beautiful embossed images combined with the bright colours of Copic markers is super easy!
To create the fun silver embossed
flowers on both of my card designs, I first stamped the images onto a
white cardstock panel using my Mini Misti. I positioned the stamp on the
panel where I wanted it to go and stamped the image with a light hand
using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Once I had the image stamped I removed the cardstock panel but left the stamp in place on the Misti so I could stamp it again once I finished colouring. Leaving it in place ensured that it would stamp in exactly the same spot.
For the above card I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I went over the whole surface with an anti static powder tool just to make sure all the ink was dry. I then put the panel back into my Misti but this time I stamped the image with Versamark ink and then I added Ranger Fine Detail Silver embossing powder over top. The result... a gorgeous coloured image with the silver heat embossed detail as the outline.
For my second card I followed the same process but instead of using Copic markers I used Distress inks to add colour to the flower. You just have to be careful when using Distress inks because they tend to stay wet a little longer which makes all of the embossing powder stick to places you don't want.
I love the final result and love how easy it is to achieve this look with my Misti! I honestly don't know how I ever stamped without it!
