MFT January 2017 Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things January release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to the January 2017 release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products.

For today's card I used the new Once Upon a Time stamp set (and coordinating dies) with the new Castle Die-namics to create a fun little fairy tale scene on my card. ;)

I diecut the castle four times and added grey colour to them using distress inks. I also cut out two of the grass pieces from the new Mailbox Die-namics and added green distress ink to those.

I knew I wanted to create a little bridge for my princess to sit on, so I diecut a thin strip using the new Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 die and then added the same grey ink to it that I used for the castles.

Before I adhered all the elements to the card, I used distress ink and added colour to my white cardstock panel for grass and water. I then adhered the castles, the grass and the bridge. I stamped the princess and two butterflies from the Once Upon a Time stamp set, coloured them in with Copic markers and then added them to my scene.

I finished it off with some fish that I stamped from the new Otterly Love You stamp set (coming soon!) in the water under the bridge and one up beside the princess that 'jumped' out of the water. ;)

Thanks so much for joining me for day 5 of the January release countdown. All of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be available in the MFT online store at 9pm EST on January 10, 2017.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas from the creative team and giveaways! See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! ;)

  1. OH my goodness is that not the cutest scene!! It's charming, fun and makes me smile!

  2. Very sweet. I almost expect a little frog to jump up and ask the princess to kiss him!

  3. What a great scene and super use of so many sets together! Love that leaping fish. So cute!

  4. A fish pond is a terrific place to show off the sweet princess and her life.

  5. That Princess definitely looks like she's waiting for her "Knight in Shining Armor" to arrive, but in the meantime, she has a lovely, scenic location to enjoy - a beautiful card!

  6. Cute and love how you used the tower more than once for the castle

  7. Great use of the castle die. I love supplies that can be used in Multiple ways. This release is totally adorable! The soft colors really add to the serenity--lovely card.

  8. I really love the castle and princess. It's adorable that you added the fish. Great card.

  9. Love the little fish with the princess!
