Colouring with Penny Black Stamps

Hey everyone!

I have a couple of cards I made using some great stamps from Penny Black. I ordered these stamps from Simon Says Stamp with specific cards ideas in mind - a birthday card and a graduation card.
I shared peeks of them while I was colouring the images, but wanted to share the completed cards.

40 Reasons I Want to Grow Old With You...

I made this card for my husbands 40th birthday.  The panel that the stamped image is on folds up to reveal a pull out list that has 40 reasons I want to grow old with him. It was fun to create the list and the stamp worked perfectly for the idea behind the card. I figured since it was his 40th, he deserved an extra special card. I love how it turned out and it meant the world to him.

Happy Graduation

And this card was for my daughter's grade 8 graduation. It was a pretty exciting night for her and I really wanted to give her a special card that was especially for her. This stamp reminded me of her as soon as I seen it - the hair, the Ugg boots and the notebook in hand (I added the word 'sketches' to the front of the notebook to personalize it even more) are so her. Once I had the image coloured, I cut out a grad cap from my Silhouette Cameo and put it on her. It actually has 2 layers so the top part is adhered with foam adhesive for added dimension. She loved it and was so impressed how much it looked like her.

And this is why I make cards. Seeing the smiles on both of their faces knowing these cards were created especially for them was so awesome!!  :-)
