Nicest Thoughts | Paper Pieced Embossing

 Hello!

So I've decided that I need to use my product more... especially the stuff that I have that I loved when it was released, added it to my collection and then never used it because I simply forgot about it.

I asked on Instagram a couple days ago how others remember to use the product that they have. The most common answer was to have a container or basket out on your desk to keep must-use product in. I think that's a great idea so I'm going to try it out and see if it works for me. Thanks to everyone for sharing ideas! ;)

Today's card was a result of my 'use more product' plan since I have had the Hero Arts Nicest Thoughts stamp for a long time and have never once inked it up. I love the larger size of it and decided to heat emboss it in different colours, cut it apart and piece it back together.

I stamped and heat embossed it with Versafine Black Onyx ink and clear embossing powder to create the outside circle. I then repeated the process with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder and American Crafts Zing Aqua embossing powder (LOVE this colour!).

Once I had all of the heat embossing done, I cut out the part I wanted from each piece. I cut completely around the black circle and then I cut around the inside circle on the Liquid Platinum piece. The last part I cut out was the aqua banner piece for the top.

Once I had everything cut out, I adhered it all back together so it looked like the original stamped design. I love how much detail and dimension it added to the finished design!

I adhered it to the card front with foam adhesive and created two side border strips with more stamping and embossing. I used the Clearly Besotted Diagonal Stripes stamp set with the aqua embossing powder and also created a thin strip with the Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

To complete the card I added some sequins and gems. I also discovered that my new favourite thing to put in the center of sequins (I usually use gems since I don't like just leaving the center hole showing) is Stickles! So quick and easy and you can control how much you add! ;)
