Hello! Today I have a card to share using the new August card kit from Simon Says Stamp. This month's kit is SO much fun and is packed full of really fun products! :)
For today's card I wanted to keep it clean and simple and focus on the awesome Hello stamp and Sunshine die that come in the kit. I think these two products work so well together to create a main sentiment on a card design.
I first stamped the Hello on watercolour paper with Versamark ink and then I heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder. I carefully added water into the open spaces of the letters making sure not to go over the embossed lines.
I then added the pink and purple colours to the letters using my Peerless watercolours. I concentrated most of the colour at the bottom and then let it slightly fade out as I went up. Once it was completely dry I added water around the outside edges of the letters and then I added the blue. I kept it darker near the letters and let it fade out as I moved away from the word.
Once it was all dry, I cut out the Sunshine word from black cardstock and then adhered it with liquid adhesive, slightly overlapping the Hello word. I completed the card by adding sequins and silver Stickles. I mounted the stamped panel onto a black cardstock mat before adhering the whole thing to a white top-folding card base.
