Deck the Halls with Inky Paws!

Hello! I am so excited to be taking part in the Newton's Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws event this week! Today I have a guest post over on the Newton's Nook blog and I'm sharing the project I created here as well!

I love the new Newton's Nook holiday stamp sets that were released this year and couldn't wait to get inky with them! For my card today, I used the Holiday Smooches stamp set to create a super cute, but simple card.

I added a wash of blue and grey watercolour to a piece of watercolour paper and let it dry completely while working on the rest of the card. I stamped the adorable seal images onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and coloured them in with Copic markers. I also coloured their hats and scarf and added some polka dot detail with a white gel pen.

Once I had the seals completely coloured, I cut them out with scissors and adhered them to the watercolour background with liquid adhesive.

The sentiment stamp was stacked, which didn't work for my card design, so I carefully cut it in half with my scissors and mounted it on my block in a straight line. I then stamped it on black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder before adhering it to my card.

Make sure to visit the Newton's Nook blog all this week to see some great projects from lot's of great designers! I'll be back with some more Newton's Nook fun later this week! ;)

  1. This is SO adorable! I just love those cute seals with the polka dot winter hat and scarf! I can't believe you cut the stamp - I'm always afraid to do that but I love how it gives you more options! Thanks so much for being part of our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week!

  2. This is so cute - I love the blue wash background. I've never cut a sentiment in half at all - it seems slightly scary!! xx

  3. Absolutely adorable card! Amazing color choice!
